The Process

We begin by discussing your ideas and preferences as to the format, style and other specific details with you.

Next, we interview each person to be involved in the project, and the subjects of that initiative. These interviews may be in person, online or over the telephone.

We gather all the documents, video, photos and other material needed for the assignment. We conduct extensive (genealogy and general history) research to verify lineage and accuracy of information for you.

Once the raw data is assembled, we meet with you again to discuss your options for the undertaking. Next, we establish timelines and final budgets.

With our materials on hand, we create a dedicated website for you, where we upload stages of the process. Only we, you and persons designated by you have access to this website during the development phase.

Now the real project begins to take shape.

You will have chosen from several options: print (paperback or hardcover) book, e-book, audio book, video/audio mp4 format, photo collage, YouTube compatible package, customizable combo format and/or website.

For the “Living Stories” package, you will be able to add material at any time, to mark special events and milestones, to commemorate specific persons or events, to backfill history and family tree data.

Living Story Options

Now, as to specifics of the various “Living Story” programs, including community stories (& history), business backgrounders, family tree packages, memoirs & autobiographies and biographies.

  1. Community Stories

Many communities already have a collection of information on their own towns and villages, but many of them lack the depth or ability to captivate readers. A “Living Story” that grows and matures with the community provides a great way to welcome new people and to remind residents of who they are and where they have journeyed from.

  • Business Backgrounders

Businesses use these packages to promote their journey and growth, for employees, for historical records and as a coffee table feature. Ideal for legal offices, professionals like architects and designers, they also work well for manufacturing businesses and larger family businesses with extensive history and unique product development.

  • Family Tree Packages

This is, by far, our most popular option. They make fantastic Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, birthday and special milestone day gifts. Ideal for aging parents so they can revel in their own evolution and become more in touch with their own histories, Family Tree packages, by virtue of the genealogy research we include, often uncover a treasure trove of past glories and exciting stories.

  • Memoirs & Autobiographies

Memoirs are very effective when they unveil a career or life of intriguing events or characters met. They often are used for public personas or someone with a more secretive life that he or she is ready to unveil.

  • Biographies

These are particularly valuable for people who have specific, compelling stories to tell, with anecdotes that lend themselves to supporting this narrative. Maybe you have dealt with a particular challenge uniquely. Perhaps your background reveals a hidden path to the future. Perhaps the person about whom we write has overcome a unique challenge.
